Since I bought my first pair of ASICS running shoes, I have become a loyal customer. The fit and quality of their shoes is far superior to any other shoe I've bought. So when I signed up for a beginner basketball league and needed shoes, the first place I checked was ASICS. I can't compare these to any other basketball shoes, since as I said, I'm a beginner. But reading online I knew that a basketball shoe has to be built to absorb more shock than your average pair of sneakers. These shoes are very solidly built and relatively heavy, and darting around on the basketball court I could definitely feel the difference between these and my pair of featherlight running shoes. Plus I liked the colors, they're not over the top or flashy.
If you're going to play basketball, you definitely need to invest in a good pair of shoes unless you want to blow out your knees down the road, and ASICS was per usual, the right answer.

I am a lifelong player playing in over 40 leagues. Having trouble finding well made comfortable shoes in stores, as they seem to be carrying less and less and mostly cheap Nike models, so ordered this sight unseen based on good quality of Asics running shoes. I was concerned about sizing, but my normal size is fine, except for one oddity. The interior height at the toes is very low compared to other shoes, meaning I feel the shoe squeezing my big toes top to bottom. Less of an issue after a couple wearings, so maybe just a breaking in issue. Othewise very happy.

This shoe is worth the hassle of buying from Australia. Delivery is only available in the U.S. so I have to wait for family or friends to travel to the US before I can buy them. My son plays rep basketball and he used to suffer from stress fractures. The shoe offers great support and stability.

I am a Master's basketball player. It is very important to me to have a comfortable shoe which also provides support and cushioning. I've always liked Asics running shoes but didn't know they made a basketball shoe. Saw this one on-line and decided to try it.
It is a comfortable fit and provides good cushioning. The shoe top could be a little higher to provide more support. The outsole provided good traction but is not very flexible. Took a while to break-in.
Overall, a good shoe for the price.
