3Not as good as the DS 13  Jul 10, 2009
By Marc Plesh "Marc Plesh"
I am a huge fan of Asics. I love the DS-13 trainer. However, the DS 14 is a little more clunky and cushioned than the DS 13. If you don't mind a heavier, bulkier trainer - more shoe, more support too - then go for it. However, if you enjoyed the near-perfect combination of cushioning, support, and lightness from the DS 13, then you will be disappointed. It feels like a Gel Landreth crossed with the DS 13. Too bad, because I need a new Gel trainer and this doesn't cut it.

5Helped me qualify for Boston  Nov 10, 2009
By J. Porter
I bought 3 pairs of these shoes for marathon training.

It did the trick and I scored a Boston qualifying time.

4Decent Shoe  Sep 12, 2009
By E. Jackson "Action"
I'm a 25-30 mile per week runner and found this shoe very comfortable. The sole is wearing a lot faster than I would have expected, but I think it will last a full 500 miles so I guess I can't complain much. If you plan on putting much more than 500 miles on your shoes, this one probably isn't for you just because of the soft sole issue.

4might be seen from a mile away.  Feb 03, 2009

-a bit stiff... ended up returning them for that reason.
ASICS is probably the best running shoe company out there.
but they have made better shoes in my opinion.

4Excellent racing shoe for heavier runners  Mar 02, 2009
By S. Santos
I am 92kg runner with very mild pronation. This is a superb racing shoe for heavier runners with mild pronation. Just be aware that it has a lot less cushioning than the 2140 or Kayano shoes. I would not use it for training or racing any distance over 10 miles.
