5People will certainly look...  Mar 21, 2011
By A. Reader
I like minimal shoes but needed something with more cushion for my daily pavement pounding. These shoes in theory are for triathletes which i am certainly not. However I picked these because they had the features I needed while being substantially more interesting then the GS trainers. At the price of perhaps less structure.

In addition to the gel and stability asics are known for, these shoes offer the ability to run in them barefoot, to use the elastic laces for quick on and off, a substantial amount of venting, awesome colors and they glow in the dark!

Im a bit flat footed and slightly over pronate. I started using these after I got repeated injuries using my Brooks Green Silence. Thats not those shoes fault though, I think it was the constant running on city streets, being slightly worn out after 150 miles of pavement running, and my flat footedness. These shoes correct those problems for me, but at the cost of additional weight and a bit less flex. A necessary tade off for us flat footed city dwellers perhaps. I run about 5 miles every other day, sometimes with some 10ers thrown in, so about 20+ miles a week.

These shoes will definitely get you noticed. I had lots of people point and whisper or do a double take. They are THAT bright. As I've almost been run over a number of times in LA, I for one dont think thats a bad thing--and theyre so over the top they make me happy (and thats all that matters at the end of the day.) That being said, the three times I've run in these I've worn MMA or Jiu-jitsu shirts/hoodies just so people know they shouldnt laugh too much or try to steal them.

These shoes are versatile, fun, visible and offer a good combo of structure and light weight for us city runners. Hope you enjoy em as much as I do.

5Great running shoe, better rave shoe.  May 25, 2011
By Felix
I bought these because i have wide feet with low arches, and i know and trust asics as a fantastic brand of running shoes for my foot type. They are exceptional running shoes, but what these reviews and the product information do not mention is that they not only glow in the dark, but also in UV radiation. They light up under black lights. it is fantastic. Great shoes all around.

5Great shoe  Jul 12, 2011
By EasyEro "if its not good, I didn't like it"
Not many people can pull these off as a leisure shoe, but if you have crazy shoe fashion sense then these are great for just such occasions. There intended purpose I think is for triathalons and I can see how this is true, they are incredibly forgiving on the feet, and there are so many areas this shoe breathes that at times it feels like you are barefooted. I wear them mostly for leisure and tennis, they are attention getters for sure, you will get compliments and complaints, but its always the guys that bash you, and the girls that compliment you. Pretty good break-down if you ask me.

4a brief review  Dec 15, 2011
By Wendell
A few notes about the actual shoe...they don't have high arch support, so those who need extra arch support may need inserted arch support. The toe box is airy mesh, so they are best worn in warmer weather. The shoes come with standard laces (as shown in the picture) which i found to be a wee bit too short and a second pair of laces that are speed laces. I found the speed laces to be nearly useless.

There is no doubt that these shoes will get some looks and comments. The ASICS symbols on the outside side of the shoes glow in the dark--many people comment that the shoes glow in the daylight.

Overall, they are functional for running but even more fun to wear just to see how people react to the brightest shoes they have ever seen.

4Good running shoes  Oct 17, 2011
By D. Steward "alroadrunner"
I bought these shoes after seeing a runner in a 5K and thought they looked really cool and after having good luck with Asics in the past, I thought I would give them a try. The colors do stick out so you will get noticed by everybody you walk or run passed. Even had a guy running in a Marathon run past me and say "Cool shoes." They are comfortable, however, I did not like the thing that you can put your shoestrings through so that you don't have to tie your shoes. I used this in my first Marathon and after several miles, it started to really bother the top of my foot, which left a mark and stayed sore for several days. So I have since took it off and now have no issues.
