Asics Foundation 9 runnung shoe Aug 16, 2011
By Chialita I absolutely love this shoe! It is made for people who need more support. This shoe definitely has more support, yet still works well for athletics. It is also true to size. This is my second pair, and I couldn't be happier. I have been wearing asics for quite a few years now, and although all have been good this is the first shoe that has support my arches w/my orthotics in that makes me happy. Thank you asics for creating this shoe!

Just not the shoe for me Aug 30, 2010
By E. Scanlon I bought these shoes based on the recommendation of our local running store. They were comfortable in the store, but maybe too flexible in retrospect. I am a moderate to severe over pronator and these provided adequate support, so I thought I would give them a try. First off, I have a medium to wide foot. I usually buy wide sneakers and normal width shoes, so I would not say I have a super wide foot. The wide in this shoe is not really that wide. It fit me comfortably, but I learned on the first day I had to wear a thin sock with them. My biggest complaint is my feet fall asleep while running in these shoes. I have used them 3 times, indoors on the treadmill, running a total of about 14 torturous miles over 3 days. Today, I had to stop every 1.5 miles to wake up my feet. No matter how I adjusted the laces, I just couldn't get it right. Also, I noticed my hips are killing me tonight. Needless to say, I am never wearing them again. Unfortunately, now I am out $100 and need to find a replacement shoe for my Saucony Progrid Stabil 6 that were heavenly to me, but sadly discontinued.
If you are not a runner and just looking for a comfortable shoe, it is not bad just walking around doing minor things. It is attractive.

Excellent motion control:Fit a little small Jun 05, 2011
By D. Palmer I have huge overpronation issues and always must have an excellent motion control shoe to run. I run about 15 miles a week so they do get some use. I have used 2 other brands in the past and have been happy for the most part but they broke down very quickly after 300 miles. Upon seeing the reviews for this shoe I decided to give this one a try. Some reviews, and I am not sure it was here, relayed that the fit ran small but when your foot is already a womens size 12 ... options can be very slim.
The shoe fits your feet exactly at your usual size but when running your foot will expand causing a very crowded feel at the toe so definitely order a 1/2 size up. Oddly my right foot is 1/2 size larger than the left but the left shoe is actually the too small shoe so I do not think the shoes are sized correctly from the factory as I have never had this problem in the past. The mid part of the shoe is sized right to prevent friction and blisters with toes and mid-foot sliding about in a too big toe box.
The heel will take some getting used because this shoe holds the heel in place. At first I thought too narrow and a bit uncomfortable but then realized my heels were glued to the back and bottom of the shoe meaning the shoe was doing what it was designed to do...hold the rear foot to stabilize for motion control.
I like the shoe except for the too small size and they will probably not last the 500-600 miles they should because my toes may come through the front before then but if you have a good size they are a great motion control shoe.

By Karen My physical therapist recommended these shoes as a way of getting my knees to track straight! I'm sold on them, this is my second pair.

ASICS Gels Best for flat feet. May 03, 2011
By Beth Ann OConnell
"rolltide810"
I have flat feet and started a Core Fitness workout class. These sneakers are the most comfortable sneakers I have ever worn! They are light weight, and the material allows airflow through the shoe. I purchased 1/2 size bigger than normal, and they fit very well.
