You get what you pay for and that's a GOOD thing! Aug 16, 2009
By Chelsea F. Bills First let me say, this shoe is a God-send!
Normally, I'd go to an actual running/walking shoe store like Pacers to buy my running shoes. But this most recent trip of mine, I didn't want to drive the 56 miles one way and blow the gas. So I went down the street to Famous Footwear. I intended to replace my worn out Asics Gel-Enhance III's ($69.99) with a new pair of the same.
Then I stumbled across these. They looked almost exactly the same as the Enhance and so I wondered what the difference was between them (besides the $99.99 price tag on the 2140's). As soon as I tried them on, I figured out why and the price became a moot point---they had to be the most well-cushioned, supportive running shoe I'd ever slipped my feet into! Just to be certain of the comfort level, I took one of the 2140's off and slipped on an Enhance shoe and walked around the store with the 2 different shoes on so I could feel the difference. It was remarkable! The 2140 had superior cushioning throughout (including the toe) and better arch support. I couldn't believe I was finding a shoe like that at a common shoe store! So I grabbed a pair.
Being a regular runner (3-4 times a week at a couple miles per run) and one who runs mostly on asphalt, my feet take quite a pounding. I've had significant trouble with Charlie-horses in the arches of my feet after my runs, even after wearing the Enhance shoes. After running in the 2140's for about a month now, I've had virtually no trouble whatsoever. Nor am I having any knee issues. Suffice it to say, if you plunk down a hundred bucks on these, you'll get your money's worth and your feet will thank you for the sacrifice!!

Extremely comfortable-even if you're new to the excercise game Jun 05, 2009

I was suggested this shoe by a salesperson in a brick and mortar store as an excellent cross-training shoe, even though it's technically a running shoe. (I have a pair in black, and always get asked where I got them when I'm in the gym)
I am a beginner at working out, but have to say that even for a newbie who weighs more than she should, (and therefore has feet/ankle issues) these shoes are by far the most comfortable, supportive "tennis shoes" that I have ever worn. An hour at the gym, or walking in my neighborhood, and my feet are no worse for wear. Even wore these when doing day-long (6:00 am - 7:30 pm) walk-thoughs at hotels and downtown events, and was still not complaining at the end of the day.
Definitely worth the price!!!

WOW!, I have had Asics before, but I had forgotten how great they felt brand new. It's not like with other shoes that you have to wait until your feet get accustomed to the new shoes... no, no, the pleasure is IMMEDIATE!!! Great shoes for a very just price!

This is the new version of the Asics shoe that I had been wearing for the last couple years. These are even better. I was having horrible problem with foot pain...wake up in the morning and as soon as my feet hit the floor, it hurt. I went to our local Lady's Footlocker and had a knowledgable clerk who led me to these Asics. My foot pain has been gone since. THESE ARE GREAT!!!!
