Description:

The Birkenstock Florida Soft Footbed is a fabulous triple-strap sandal that offers security and style. This women's slide sandal features a nubuck upper with fully adjustable buckles for the perfect fit. The anatomically correct cork/latex footbed, crafted from cork that is 100% renewable and sustainable, encourages foot health. The suede lined, foam padded, contoured footbed will mold to the shape of your foot creating a custom footbed that supports and cradles you each and every step. The neutral heel profile and deep heel cup keeps the natural padding of your foot where it belongs, under the heel, distributing your body weight more evenly. This Birkenstock sandal also has a flexible EVA outsole that offers lightweight, shock absorbing support with lasting durability. Blue skies and a warm breeze go perfectly with the Birkenstock Florida Soft Footbed.

By Paula "Oh Sew Sly"
This is my second pair of these sandles. I just love them. They are a little expensive...but comsidering they last jsut about forever...not a bad deal! I am hard to fit and these fit me well and are vey comfortable. I take them on vacations..pack easy and can be used at the pool or as slippers in your room. Great for just kicking around!

4Birkibuk Is A Good Alternative To Leather  Jun 25, 2011
By Gail K. Powers "Abra"
I've been wearing Birkenstocks since 1996 and have bought 53 pairs to date. I have them in different styles: sandals, clogs, thongs, dressy flats, casual flats, and even an athletic shoe style. Initially when I bought my first pair it took a week to break them in. I'd wear them for a couple of hours per day until they started molding to my insole. I guess I have adapted to Birkenstock's cork footbed as I no longer really need to break them in.
The Florida is one of my favorite styles as it has a more feminine profile. The three bands secure the sandal to the foot; no problems with slippage as these babies stay put. They are designed so your toes grip the toe bed. They conform to my feet and offer a lot of support as well as comfort. The best way I can describe it is that the shoes mold to one's feet through a combination of weight/pressure as well as body heat. Rather than trying to adapt your feet to a pair of shoes Birkenstocks do the opposite because they adapt to the wearer.
If you flex each shoe 2-3 times before initially wearing it seems to make the shoes seem less rigid. Once the shoe starts to mold to the foot, the insole will darken and have an imprint of your foot on the sole. The Birkibuk upper is a synthetic material which mimics nubuck and is easy to clean if necessary and is stain resistant. In the past I've treated the upper with Camp Dry, but it isn't really necessary.
These sandals are great if you are o.k. with a somewhat hard sole and willing to give them the appropriate time to break them in. They've helped with my posture, I pronate far less, and I'm so used to wearing them that I forget I have them on.

5Hard to find...  Mar 29, 2010
By Sayori Hinitz "Shuki_1013"
Those three strap Birkenstocks are hard to find. They're comfortable and durable. Been wearing those for few decades now but they're not available even through Birkenstock US website. Hope Amazon will keep them available for a long time.

1please buy better Birkenstocks  Apr 03, 2012
By Wendy J. Neff
I have been wearing Birkenstock sandals for fourteen years, and have loved every pair that I have purchased. Except these, which I will be returning immediately. I don't know what the upper portion of the sandals are made of, but it is not leather or suede, or anything that would last as long as I expect my Birkenstocks to last. If these shoes cost $25 or $30 I could maybe live with this man-made material, but not for $65 or more per pair. Please read carefully before you purchase your next pair of Birkenstock sandals, and make sure that they have leather uppers.

5Long-time favorite shoe!  Aug 05, 2011
By L. Waltz "so many books, so little time"
As a long-time Type 1 diabetic, I like the heel-cup on Birkenstocks. They lessen the heel callus build-up caused by sandals/flip-flops. I find that the "Florida" style isn't as heavy as some Birks. Just today I ordered three more pairs in different colors!
