Well Made and comfortable Oct 22, 2011

Ecco Men's Cerro Sport Sandals proves to be a very comfortable and well made pair of sandals, geared for walking, hiking and trekking if needed to. The soles are quite aggressive and it grip very well in all kind of terrain. It tracked well in slick mud as well as in water. The material is soft, supple and basically waterproof. This model gear well for people with medium to wide foot. I haven't develop any hot spots or sore spots after using this sandals for a while. It amazingly fitted perfectly for someone like me who got wide, low arch feet (I wear EE wide.). The sandal provides pretty good protection all around. The toe guard prevent anything nasty from sticking into your toes or any part of your fore foot. By look, it will remind you of Keen sandals but there is a back-strap that Keen do not have and that extra adjustment make the sandals more easier to fit. The footbed is not removable but they can be clean by hand. One pull tab tighten the sandals which make it quite simple to put on and adjust. The tongue is also pretty nice and soft. I used this sandal basically for hiking purposes and it does that function very well. It is not a very light sandal however but serves as a nice alternative to low cut hiking shoes. Overall, I would considered it to be a definite improvement over the Keen sandals of which, it resemble quite closely.
Of course, buying the proper size would help when ordering through mail. The sizes intent to lean on the smaller scale. What I mean is if you wear a size 10.5 like I do, buy a size 11 to be on the safe side instead of size 10 which may be too tight due to my width of my feet. Person with medium width may do well with 10 unless you got a high arch and you may need a 11. (All based on 10.5 size.)
Note: I notice that there is another Ecco sandals called Terra VG Fisherman and it looked exactly like Cerro Sport. I am not sure if Ecco have reissue the same sandal under an another name but anyone interested can check it out.

Comfy but may be flawed Apr 08, 2012
By Rmchicago I am a big fan of Ecco and this would be my 5th pair from them overall. Always wear Track shoes and had the Yucatan sandals before purchasing these. These feel great on my feet but I noticed immediately that the fit of the shoe and my foot makes a suction cup sound as I walk which is well annoying. I'm not sure if it's the material on the foot bed or if it's just not broken in but it sounds like 2 farts going off with each step I take, not to mention the suction cup feeling I get under my foot each time. Maybe I am a bit too flat footed for this sandal, I have a slight arch but probably closer to flat footed.
I really think it's the material of the foot bed, the old material has a more cloth like feel and seemed to prevent the foot from sticking to it.
I will give these a week and see how they go and if it goes away I will raise the score but if not these will be returned and I will make do with the one's I already have. I love the new lace system though, beats velcro which gives out over time.
