My favorite Ecco casual Oct 15, 2008
By New England Yankee I pretty much only wear Ecco footwear, with the exception of odd items like western boots and pacs. My daily wear is Ecco's cap toe dress shoes, which I gave a glowing revew: ECCO Men's Austin Cap Toe Oxford
I've had two pairs of the Track shoes, and like them a lot for all-around casual wear. You get the same rugged construction, premium oil-impregnated leather, leather lining, etc. Like all Eccos, these wear like iron and last for years.
I give them 5 stars, but note that the sole doesn't last quite as long on these as some of Ecco's other shoes. The problem is that the outer polyurethane layer of the sole is just that - a layer over an inner, softer sponge rubber of some sort. The sole has a lot of give - it is VERY comfortable for city walking in spite of the aggressive tread pattern. Unfortunately, walking on hard surfaces will accelerate wearing through that outer sole layer, and you find yourself with little flaps of sole material sticking out here and there. Still, my last pair took about 3 years to get to that point with frequent wear. It broke my heart to toss them - the uppers still looked like new!

The best Jan 04, 2007
By Peter J. MacLaren I am on my 3rd pair. I wear them every day in every weather. They are comfortable, waterproof and - if polished - look very respectable. A pair usually lasts me two years before the stitching round the top of the front starts to fray and break and/or the sole begins to wear thin: then it is time to order a new pair. They are always the same so you can re-order them with confidence that they will fit just like the prior ones. You may hesitate because of the price, but they are worth every penny from a quality perspective, and given their durability they are in fact very cost effective.

These shoes Self Destruct Nov 30, 2010

This shoe is great in every regard-comfort,fit,style, waterproofing, appearance except one thing. The soles will self destruct after short wear especially if exposed to wet conditions. I know the uppers are Goretex lined but the soles are junk and break down under wet conditions. Not sure? Just do a search for Ecco shoe problems. It is a known problem with the manufacturer not providing a fix. A cottage industry has now started for shoe repair companies specializing in replacing the factory soles with Vibram soles that are reliable.

Men's Ecco Track II Moc Low Jan 12, 2007
By ELS I've bought this show 3 or 4 times over many years--best shoe I've ever worn. Very comfortable, long-lasting, waterproof. They've gotten considerably more expensive, though.
Most recent pair is first time I've bought them on the web. Correct size sent and quick delivery.

I am a big ECCO shoe fan Jan 27, 2009
By D. Murray My first pair of ECCO shoes were the Track IIs. I wore them almost every day, they were the most comfortable shoes I had. The sole did come apart after 3 or 4 years. They are expensive, but they lasted a long time. I've now got 3 other pair of ECCO shoes, I love that the sizing is very consistent and they are all comfortable and look good.
I recently found that www.nushoe.com can resole, repair stiching and refinish ECCO shoes. I still had my old Track II's in the bottom of a closet and sent them in. Looking forward to getting them back. The resoled shoe is a vibram rubber sole, not the poly original sole. So we'll see how that works. They claim they will have the same comfort as the original.
