Description:

The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England, and family-run until 1945, Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. When home-steading drew adventurous New England families to the West during the mid and late 1800's many of the pioneers wore Frye Boots for the long journey. Today Frye remains true to its roots with its line of heritage boots, but continues to innovate as it introduces chic new handbags, pumps, and sandals to its collection.

5You better buy it  Feb 17, 2011

Shoes look cool. The quality is on top and I think the price matches it. Size matches what it says too.
But it took me 4-5 days to soften them, especially heel side suffered most. Then I felt pretty comfortable wearing them. Leather shoelace look really cool. I would advise them to everyone.

5High quality and very comfortable  Apr 09, 2012

I needed to upgrade my summer boat shoe that had been beaten and bruised over the last 5 or so years. After doing some research and setting a budget of $150, I came upon the Frye Mason boat shoe moc.

I ordered a size 11.5 in the Camel color. One thing to note is that the camel is not as orange/yellow as the picture makes it seem. This was a good thing for me since I was hoping for a bit deeper of a color. The color is really more of a burnt orangish brown. There are definitely hints of red to it that weren't obvious in the picture.

These babies fit very true to size. So no worries about ordering bigger or smaller to accommodate. However, if you plan to wear these shoes without socks (as you should) that is going to free up some room that isn't usually there. If you end up having a size too big, adding insoles can help make them fit snugger.

The leather is very soft and comfortable. The very first time I put them on was awesome. No real worries about stretching them out or any rubbing anywhere. You can see all the stitching throughout the shoe and even through a small opening on the bottom. The sole is sewn on and no traces of glue or anything like that.

Overall, I would highly recommend this shoe to anyone who is looking to buy a quality shoe that will last them for a while without breaking the bank on a specialty brand like Quoddy.
