Super support shoe Sep 13, 2010
By Doc hide After years of foot pain from planter fascitis and thousands of dollars of physcial therapy and special shoes. These shoes have offered the support I needed. They were recommended by a sport medicine doctor. I am a nurse and on my feet a lot and have always paid for good shoes. But despite the unusually long break in time they are the best shoe I can recall owning. They have little flex, and no side roll. The metal (rollbar) corrects improper balance and gait but cannot be felt through the shoe. Excellent shoe.

Great Shoes Oct 24, 2009
By sixtz4me I purchased these shoes locally for 120.00 (won't make that mistake again) with the New Balance IPR3030 insoles as prescribed by my podiatrist. What a difference they have made in my foot comfort. I have PF, hammer toes and Metatarsalgia. I can now be comfortable all day. I stand on my feet on ceramic tile all day, as I work at an International Airport. Try em!

Oh So Comfortable Sep 21, 2009
By Pompano Larry I have found that only New Balance Athletic shoes are the best for me. This shoe, in particular, is the best in comfort. I could feel the difference the moment I put them on. I have Morton's neuroma and these shoes have really made a difference. Having bought them in white, I only wish that New Balance would add more silver. They are very, very white. I intend to purchase them in brown next, so that I can wear them with my chinos and they won't stand out. This is a great product!

Wet Floor and Deck Walking Sep 09, 2010
By Tom I have worn New Balance 927 walking shoes for several years. While they are not suited very well for rough country walking, I have used nothing better for walking and NOT SLIPPING on wet floors and decks.
In stores where there are 'Wet Floor' signs out in all the bathrooms and on the store floor every time it rains... I check and if it does not appear oily, I ignore them to the astonishment of store employees and management. Therefore, that is all I wear while shopping, period.
Also, I recently went on a cruise to ports on the North Sea, the Baltic Sea, the Irish Sea and the English Channel... Most of the time the seas were rough enough that the Pool Deck stayed wet all morning most days. No problem in those shoes, they did not slip at all, no matter how much pitching and rolling the ship did. I would recommend nothing else for boat use unless steel toes are required.
I hope New Balance never drops them.

Size is different from previous New Balance, black finish comes off immediately. Poor quality over all May 09, 2011
By Todd S. Phillips I have worn the same New Balance Walking Shoe for years. I have narrow feet that get very wide at the widest part. I lost my arches due to an accident about 12 years ago so they flatten out more than before.
I always get size 9.5 4E, which I then fill with Spendco insoles designed for plantar fasciitis.
This year I decided to splurge and get the the more expensive version, the MW927. The step up from my previous New Balance walking shoes.
The interior of these shoes is MUCH larger than my previous shoes, even though they are officially the same size. My feet slide around in them, back to front, left to right. The toe area has way more empty space above the toes. I still have the previous pair so I can go back and forth to compare them. I do not remember the exact model of my previous pair, as I have worn them so long it has worn off.
But it is clear both say 9 1/2 4E yet the MW927 are way too big, the others are perfect.
Worse yet, 7 days after I receive them I get caught in one rainstorm. The black finish on the seams is coming off all over the place. That did not wear off any of the previous pairs until about 18 months to 2 years, wearing them all day in all kinds of weather.
That is normally the sign that it is time to get new shoes. With these new New Balance the seams started losing the black finish after the first rain. A month later and they are almost entire devoid of the black finish.
I have worn New Balance exclusively for years.
This is likely my final pair. I will be going to one of those fancy stores that evaluates what a customer needs. I do not think I will even bother to include New Balance in the options.
Oh yes, and after that one rain storm, they smell TERRIBLE. They smell like moldy rubber. All previous New Balance were worn in rain and snow, ankle deep puddles, without ever smelling like something rotten.
