5Simply terrific!  Aug 28, 2007
By J. Chen
Awesome shoe! extremely comfortable since i have flat feet. I've been able to work out for longer periods without having the bottom of my feet pull and be in pain. It's just simply a terrific shoe!

3New Balance Keeps Making Them Smaller!  May 21, 2009
By Cynthia T.
This shoe has got a very shallow toebox, considering it's supposed to have a deeper one for the SL-2 last. Perhaps everyone who is raving about this shoe, has simply ordered large. That just doesn't work for everyone, I'm afraid, because this shoe is small in the wrong places. I can actually feel my toes scraping the top of the shoe.

As far as width goes, the D was no wider than the average NB shoe. It was skimpy at the balls of the feet, as well. The problem is that New Balance has become completely undependable and inconsistent in its half-sizes. The problem is, if you're a half size and you size up, the difference is enormous.

A real disappointment.

5New Balance Running Shoe  Jul 12, 2008
By L. L. Franklin
Great fitting shoe right out of the box. I ordered a half size larger in a wider size (New Balance seems to run narrow) because I wear orthodics. I am not a runner, but do alot of walking. Shoe is very comfortable. Would highly recommend it.

5Perfect for underpronators!  Oct 04, 2011
By C. Haase "Garden Rose Photography"
I have extra wide feet and I am on my feet all day long many days. My feet tend to want to roll out away from my body causing them to become very painful on the ouside of both feet. These shoes really force my foot to walk properly and have improved my balance and walking gate a great deal. They are allowing the strain on the out sides of my foot to heal. If you are a underpronator these shoes are made just for you.

FYI I also have high arches and use arch inserts in these shoes as well.

5Only Athletic shoe I've worn since recommended by PT.  Jan 01, 2010
By Carol Anderson
As I mature this she helps me with my balance. It looks good and makes me want to work out. Keeps this 76 year old skeleton well aligned. I have bought 2 pairs in 9 years and hope they keep this model 587.
