My New Favorite - Like 902 meets the 1226 but Better!! Mar 16, 2011
By H. Ritchey I am a super huge New Balance running shoe fan, with the 1220 series being my go to shoe for the last 4 years and a marathon and a half(the latest being the WR1226). However I've also used (and loved) the super light weight 902 especially for speed work, but have been unhappy with the latest WR905 model in that particular series. The WR1080 seems to be an almost magical combination of my two favorites, and I am in love! The upper of these shoes is incredibly lightweight and seems to mold to my feet with the greatest comfort. The sole of the shoe has a great deal of cushioning, but also seems to have a decent bit of stability as I moderately over-pronate. These shoes have so far held up well, even with semi-high mileage weeks of around 20 miles per week. These had zero break in time for me, and have fit true to my New Balance size. I am supremely happy with these running shoes and will likely buy several pairs to stock up on before the inevitable new variation comes out. These really are a dream come true for me, and I hope everyone else has the same awesome experience. I really can't think of enough positive adjectives to describe these shoes.

BEST RUNNING SHOES!!!! Aug 15, 2011
By Karen B I have a very narrow foot and can never find narrow running shoes. These fit perfectly!! I would highly recommend them!!! Very COMFORTABLE!!!
UPDATE: 1/18/2012 I have been using these running shoes for almost 5 months. I run approx. 3 miles 3-4 times a week. They are still very comfortable and the insoles have not worn out.
Prior to owning these shoes, I got a stress fracture in my right foot twice from running. I always bought good running shoes but never ones with a replaceable insole. My orthopedic doctor recommended a sturdy shoe with a replaceable insole. He stated that removing and examing the insole is the best way to determine if the cushion and support are intact and protecting my foot. I haven't had to replace the insoles yet. These shoes are still comfortable and are the best running shoes I ever owned!!! I haven't had a problem with my right foot since wearing these shoes for running.

OK but not great Nov 01, 2011

I love new balance because they come in narrow. These are OK, and I kept them and am running in them, but it seems like they have less padding in the sole in the toe area. Also the heels feel higher. The first week I had back trouble, which may or may not have been contributed to by the higher heels. I gradually started using them and now my back seems OK but still not my favorite shoes.

Too Big Sep 16, 2011
By Patti I read all of the reviews and the concensus was the shoe runs small so, I ordered a half size up. The shoe is too big. Now I need to return and get a smaller size. URGH! The shoe feels comfortable and I am hoping my normal size fits properly.
great shoe May 19, 2012
By Lois Talley Bought a pair just prior to leaving for a week long vacation. Hiked four hours the second time I wore them (which I never suggest anyone do). I liked them so much that I bought three more pair just like them. I now have a new pair for yard work as well as the ones I wear for long walks. There is more padding in this earlier version than what I could find in the stores when I went to purchase a second pair. I was told it was the "upgraded" version of the same shoe. I have to wonder if both didn't come out at the same time with one meant to have a firmer insole.
