Not the lightweight WT910, but the lined WT 910 GT May 03, 2011
By bahgainhunter The one star is an alert to confusing advertising on Amazon.
A warning for those considering this purchase: There are two descriptions in the advertisement - one evidently is for the WT910, which is a lightweight mesh, for warm-weather use. The other is evidently for the WT910 GT, which is lined with Gore-Tex for cold-weather use.
The product, though, in the Amazon advertisement, is called the WT910, which is what I thought I was ordering - the warm-weather shoe.
I may end up keeping the GT, which is what I received, as it appears to be warm and fits well (it's basically the WT910 with Gore-Tex sewn inside as a lining).
But I am hoping a second try with ordering the WT910 will result in my having the lighter-weight shoe I ordered.
On the positive side, should I decide not to keep the GT version, Amazon was willing to pay for return shipping, due to the unclear product description.
UPDATED: For some reason, the gray-blue arrived as the lightweight version, the WT910, at least in the 6.5 wide, so I am very pleased. The gray-green, the GT.
*****I'd give both styles of the shoe five stars.*****
And, it turned out to be a fortunate mistake that I initially received the WT910GT, as the Gore-Tex-lined version is also very comfortable on the still-cooler mornings and, I hope, will be a nice break from heavier boots for winter walking.

Best New Balance shoe for hiking Ashland, OR Jul 15, 2011
By Ashland, OR resident I've worn these trail shoes all four seasons here in Ashland, Oregon, near the northern California border where it's quite hilly and ~1800 ft elevation. They're great for hiking in hills on gravel trails, through mud, in the rain, in the snow, you name it, these shoes are comfortable, truly water-proof and provide secure traction on all surfaces. These shoes also have excellent cushioning and foot support (I have flat feet and wear orthotics) with a toe-box wide enough to accommodate two pairs of socks for long hikes or cold weather.
I've gone through multiple pairs over the past couple of years and consistently find them my favorites;I highly recommend these NB women's trail shoes.

New Balance Gore-Tex Feb 10, 2011
By C. Zaucha New Balance is my preferred brand of running shoe. I really like this one. With all of the snow this year, these shoes really keep my feet dry. I normally order a 1/2 size larger for running shoes, however, this shoe is a little long, so I didn't really need to. Overall, a good shoe with good support.

Best Shoes Ever!!! Nov 08, 2010
By Reggie I bought these shoes at the recomendation of New Balance, and I haven't been disapointed since I got them. I've had them for a year now and they still are going strong. I go everwhere in these shoes and run in them all the time. The sole is still supporting my foot, unlike many other brands that give out within the first couple months. They are gore-tex which means wearing them when it rains is not a big deal. My feet always feel dry and comfortable. I am actually looking to buy another pair. These are the best running shoes I've ever had, bar none.

Great Shoe! Sep 24, 2011
By Christina A. Salemi
"Stinarat"
The shoes arrived quite promptly, well packaged and undamaged. I love these shoes. I am using them for jogging, walking and hiking about 5 miles per day in a rural area of the southern california sierra foothills. The terraine goes from unfinished road to rough asphalt. One reason I picked these from the many others was a review that said the shoe ran long, and indeed they do to my great joy. I have what we in the family call "rat's toes" a genetic variation where the second toe is much longer than the large toe. Shoes my size that run short cause pain, esp when going down hill. In these my toe never touches the front and for that I am grateful. My only negative is that the orthotic was not very supportive for my arches but that was quickly remedied with my orthotic from the podiatrist years ago when I had plantar faciatis. I do not have it now and do not want it to return. I noticed when I changed the orthotics that the easily removable New Balance one had virtually no structure and was soft and felexible and thus did not give good support for someone such as me. In all other ways the shoe is wonderful. I was able to change inserts without problems The shoe fits perfectly with no break in time and does well on the roads/trails. I am hoping that the gortex lining will also provide some improved warmth for toes that are sensitive to cold as well as protection in the rain.
