1Squeaky cross-trainers  Aug 16, 2011
By gman33 "gman33"
I'm a loyal Nike customer and have worn through literally about 6-7 pairs of the previous model, the Air Monarch III, over the last few years. I didn't notice much of a difference at first when I started wearing the IV's, but about 3-4 weeks in, they started squeaking. I bought two pairs and figured it was just a flukey thing so I started wearing the other pair, and like clockwork, they were squeaking within the same time period. It's my understanding that this is a production issue, not a design issue. The two pairs were purchased more than a month apart in two separate regions, which raises questions about Nike quality control. I called Nike corporate and they seemed disinterested. Hope they find a fix. The Air Monarch III's were great shoes and it's a bummer that they've screwed up its successor.

1Too loud  Nov 25, 2011

Comfortable, yes. But not wearable. Extremely loud squeaking started just a week or so after I purchased them. Should have looked at reviews first I guess.

1SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK  Jan 29, 2012
By ginglesair
First the good, well used to be good. I have owned 3 pairs of these shoes unfortunatly. The first pair was SQUEAKY but lasted a really long time. I just figured the squeak was maybe a fluke so I bought a second pair. SQUEAK SQUEAK. They did the same thing, and it is so annoying and quite loud. I had swore off buying another pair until looking at them I had seen they re-designed the soles so I figured they had to have taken care of the squeaking problem right? WRONG! It was worse and the last pair didn't last half as long as the first two pair either. DO NOT buy this shoe. I had to have a all black shoe for work and these are a fail. Don't believe me? Go to the Nike website and read the reviews on there. I wanted to post one there as well but didn't want to sign up.

3Not as good as the earlier design  Jun 30, 2011
By Steve G
This is the second pair I have had of these shoes. I am not sure what prior version I had, but they are definitely different. The new ones have a lower overall shoe body which makes it seem like your feet are slipping out of the shoes. However, the full length Air is definitely an improvement as you get full cushion whether you are using the front of back of your feet. Overall it is still a good shoe, but I am not sure why they made it less supportive than the prior version.

5Excellent  Nov 03, 2011

Shoes are solid, surprising light despite bulky appearance. Use them for walking, hugs feet for a solid feel. a very good product.
