No Half Sizes - Sized Smaller Jun 17, 2011
By A Rawlins There are no half sizes. I thought that rounding down was better then up (didn't want a loose fit). However, the toe jams into the plastic toe front when rounding down. I guess I will have to reorder and round up. It would be nice if they gave some sizing indicators for online ordering.
Second ordered pair was an 11. It fist more like an 10.5 which is my size. Be warned to go larger on you orders.

Great for running Jan 31, 2011
By Larry Marburger I've been a barefoot runner for about a year now, but I'm not ready to run completely barefoot in the snow. I picked these up and paired them with a simple wool running sock and made it 6.5 miles out on the trails in 6" of snow no problem. My feet weren't the least bit cold the entire run. The rubber sole is a bit thiner and much more flexible than my Vibram Sprints so they might end up being my go to shoe for trails even after the snow melts.

Excellent grip Oct 03, 2010
By R. Barnhart Excellent grip on ALL surfaces. Perfect compliment to my US Divers Snorkel kit...they are just the right height when wearing fins to keep the fin rubber from wearing a sore spot on your feet. BUY THEM!

Cold weather - "Barefoot running" Feb 05, 2011
By yiroocham K, too cold/wet for running in 5 fingers? Here's how I run when it's: 0 - 20 deg. F: 1st base layer: 5 finger wool tetra sock, 2nd layer: .5 mm "Hydroskin" socks from NRS and finally, Oneill's Reactor Reef boot. Def. not the freedom you get from VFFs...but it works. Feet are warm/dry even after running in: rain, snow whether packed or not, trail/street. The reactor reef boot is 2mm thick w/ a great nonslip grip BUT the magic of surviving the cold/moisture comes from the hydroskin sock! Nothing quite like barefoot...but I don't like treadmills! This works and I scored the reef boots for $25, hydroskins for $23 and tetrasocks, while expensive at $16/pair do give a smidge more freedom than reg. socks:) Have fun...freak out your neighbors!! I think I can run anywhere/anytime now! After a 6-8mi jog, the inside of the hydroskins condense sweat heavily...so experiment with, say 2 base layers...under the hydroskin. Proper barefoot form is sacrificed as layers are added...due to less feedback..so i just slow my runs down...increasing distance in winter:) Sheesh, when weather breaks...it'll be back to barefoot or my WELL worn KSOs!!!!!

Needs half sizes Sep 09, 2011
By DG I got the product today and tried them on. I wear a 10 1/2 and ordered an 11 based on the reviews that the sizes run true. I have about 1/2" in the toe area which allows my foot to slide a little bit when I walk around. A 10 would have caused my toes to be crammed in the ends and would have been very uncomfortable for any length of time. If the company would offer half sizes a 10 1/2 would be a perfect fit. So for those that wear full sizes, order your size and you will be happy. For those of us that wear half sizes we just have to put up with them either being too tight or a little too big. I chose the little too big. I just hope I don't regret this decision when I get on the reef and discover that once they get wet that they are too loose. The quality seems great and they are very comfortable. If they came in half sizes I would have given them a 5 star rating. But since they don't come in half sizes I consider this a large flaw.
