Engineered for comfort and performance Dec 30, 2011
By Wayne These shoes are recommended not only by runners but also by podiatrists for proper foot support. They are comfortable and well engineered. The 'stability span" prevents excessive pronation of the tarsus, so your ankle is less likely to rotate excessively. The "transition bridge" between the sole and heel area is designed to give extra stability, and the concave heel is designed for support. The DMX shear system distributes the forces at the heel to minimize overall stress on the foot. They have "stable fit" padding around the heel for the shoe to sit properly. The stable fit works well, but the downs side is that it can be damaged if you stomp on the back of the shoes to put them on instead of placing the foot in properly. When not abused, they can provide a consistent fit over time. When damaged, they can dig into your heels. The shoes contain foam "Ortholite" inserts which can be used or easily removed for custom inserts or orthotics. Features such as "smooth fit" and "kinetic fit" keep you from feeling seams and keep the lace area stable.
I've used these, as well as earlier versions over the years. They have given me the support I need for running and for general walking. Any good running shoe will break down over time, and you should change shoes often to get good performance. You are better off replacing cheaper shoes more often than wearing good ones after they are broken down. These don't wear out fast for me, so they may not show much wear by the time they are broken down. That's not a sign of premature breakdown, but of long wear. It's best to have several pairs of these and alternate to get longer wear.
If there's a down side to all of this, it's that Reebok likes to throw around lots of names and acronyms to describe the technology rather than simply telling you about the designs themselves. You don't really need to understand all the logos and slogans on the shoes to get good use out of them, but Reebok seems to think that each one needs to be printed on the outside of each shoe.

Top of the line Nov 04, 2011
By Buddy I like this shoe. I jog six days a week, mostly on a treadmill. Lesser shoes not only hurt my feet, they wear out rapidly. Needless to say, these are all I use.
moderate quality running shoe. Oct 14, 2011
By shah some support for arch. some cushioning. not for wide feet, especially if you buy normal size. little support in hill.
I always use running shoes. This one is good but not excellent. I used other Reebok's Premier shoes which were very good especially for cushioning.
