Very brightly colored, very comfy shoes Jan 06, 2012
By J. Hackett I love Spira shoes. I'm a nurse with alot of standing demand on my legs. These Spiras make all the difference in diminishing my leg and foot fatigue. The yellow is very, very bright. The young people around me love them. The friends who are 40-plus aren't show sure. I don't care what they think. They are also wonderful for running. I feel bouyant in these and, believe me, I am not very bouyant. I normally wear a size 8 1/2 to a 9. I purchased a pair of Spira runners that were 9B-C and they were a tad bit too short and not wide enough. With these I bought a 9 1/2 C-D. They're slightly too wide but my feet are not squished. I've worn them for 12 hours without my feet and legs tiring, and I was on my feet 80% of that time.

Spira Stinger XLT running shoe, great shoe if you have knee and ankle pain Mar 29, 2012
By Greg I run an average of 3-4 miles a day, 2-3 times a week. I used to suffer from knee, hip, and ankle pain. With these shoes that has all gone away. They cushion the impact so much more than any other shoe I have owned. The cushioning effect doesn't lessen either with age. They are also extremely light weight. They don't provide alot of lateral support needed for other activities, so I wouldn't recommend them as a cross trainer or use for anything else than running/walking. Great shoe overall.

On my 2nd pair ;) Jan 14, 2012
By Cydney I bought a pair about 7 months ago at a Fit to Run store and I loved them. This is now my second pair. They are super light on my feet and they do spring your feet off the pavement. My only caution to those buying them is the sizing. I wear an 8 so I bought an 8.5 for the swelling factor but they were very snug when I put them on. I bought a size 9 this time and now there is room.
A few issues but good shoe to try May 18, 2012
By Dalton Pulsipher As others have said, the shoe does run a bit large. I did a 14.5 miler in them and noticed a few things different from regular shoes:
- I had to make turnarounds at the bottom of a downhill and it felt like the sole directly under my feet was slipping off (inside the shoe) each time. I haven't had this problem with any other brand. - After a few miles I noticed the shoe was wet and seemed to be retaining water. So if you do runs in hot weather you may notice this as well. - My calves were sore the next day. I think another reviewer had the same experience and it is probably a part of shifting the mechanics to the calves a bit. Presumably the calves will adjust and be fine over time. - The springs may have worked but it is hard to tell. I wasn't bouncing around obviously, and short of that it was just another thick soled shoe. I think it would take a very precise comparison of before and after optimized runs to notice a difference. - The craftsmanship seems a bit under par. Materials are nonstandard and the shoe has a more flimsy feel to them when compared to a Nike, Asics, or other mainstream brand. That said, it is an acceptable shoe. Basically this company is banking on the spring technology to get them over the hump before springing for better craftsmanship.
Overall I do like the style and overall feel of them. I will continue to run them to the 500 mile point and decide then if it is worth getting more. Right now my guess is that I would opt for a mainstream brand next time around.
Amazingly comfortable! Apr 29, 2012
By M. Henriquez Bought these shoes for Zumba and they are perfect. The MOST comfortable and lightweight workout shoe I have ever owned. Can't say enough good about the design and fit. Worth every penny although I did get them about 40% off. An amazing deal.
