Excellent multipurpose run shoe Mar 18, 2011
By bike_to_boston Selecting shoes is a very personal thing, but I tend to find that most people tend to like the way a particular brand feels and fits; for me that brand is Saucony. This is my third pair, and by far my favorite. I tend to do mid-long distance runs (5-10 mi) 2 - 3 times a week, and I like a lightweight shoe for that. I've run in the Grid A2/A3/A4 series shoe as well as the Kinvara, and I find the Grid A3 to be a bit too light and lacking of support, while the outsole on the Kinvara isn't very durable. This shoe provides just that right amount of support without adding much weight over the Grid A3s, and has a much better outsole than the Kinvara. The one downside would be the perforated outsole: while great in the summer, you can't really run in the wet or snow because of (end up with cold, wet feet).
Great shoes for long races Oct 24, 2011
By Eric I like them so much that these are my second pair. Very light, fast and bold. Just enough cushionning for long races.
Fastwitch 4 - Great Light Supportive Running Shoes Oct 15, 2011
By dan in alta loma Running in these for 10 months. These shoes are very light and fast.
I am pretty light for a guy; I use & love these as trainers and racers.
Super for asphalt. They are also great for dirt trails and hill work (for me, and probably anyone with- or working on- a midfoot/forefoot strike).
Toe section is wide enough in standard width for my wide toes (often an issue).
Inside is both soft and light: I am tempted to run without socks (intentional by Saucony).
The Upper/tongue are notably comfortable and light for runners (like me) with sensitive feet.
As a bonus, these shoes look great !!
This shoe has spoiled me; I can't go back to any of my old favorite Asics trainers.
I've recently added minimalist-trainers from Saucony, the Mirage, but I'll review those another time.
Will definitely buy another pair, the latest version (Fastwitch 5)!!
Wonderful Light Shoe Dec 19, 2010
By Stephen Pellerine I love these shoes and use them for a range of runs from my interval sets at 3 min kms and longer 25 km runs, BUT I do not wear them on all long runs as I am weary that there is not enough support, and to be fair they are intended (I believe) as a middle distance (21Km) shoe - or for competitive marathoners.
As with any shoe - try them, make a judgment, and learn. I have no issue with these shoes at all and if you run regularly with Nike (I do) the transition to these will be possible. I had zero blistering with these, but carefully warmed up to them - which you should do anyhow.

By gbrant I am a huge fan of these shoes. I typically run in minimalist style shoes. I chose these for some of my longer runs because they are still very light, but have more cushioning than a racing flat. I have had zero feet issues while wearing these. I just finished a 50K trail race in these and was ecstatic with them. I know they weren't built for trails, but they felt great the whole time! I typically wear size 12 and their size 12 fits great.
