Spira are the best sneakers I have found yet!!!! I own about 6-8 pair at this time just because they are so great!!! A pair for hiking, running, walking and plain ole looking good !!!!!

I previously wore the Spira Trail Runner but Spria no longer makes it - the Spira representative suggested I try the Odyssey in its place. It's a great shoe - very stable but still comfortable - It does run small - get 1/2 size up.

This shoe runs very small. I usually wear a size 8 in athletic shoes, but my friend told me they run small, so I ordered an 8 1/2, and it was STILL too tight. I returned them.

Best shoe ever for treadmilling! My knees are happy now. Jan 30, 2012

The first of the year I embarked upon a strict fitness/nutrition program with the help of Sparkpeople.com. While I was on the treadmill my gait felt "clunky," not smooth. During and after my workouts I was experiencing very sore knees and a stiff, achy lower back. As I will soon be 52, I was owing the discomfort to that. Upon the recommendation of a fellow "Sparkpeopler," I decided to give this shoe a try, and how very glad I am that I did! I ordered a half size larger than normal, as the reviews on Amazon led me to believe this shoe ran small. Normally a size 9 to 9-1/2, the size 10s fit me perfectly, and I have a somewhat wide foot, but the normal width in this shoe fits me fine. In summary, the "WaveSpring" technology in this shoe is amazing and the mesh upper shoe is so lightweight and cool. Now my gait on the treadmill, at any speed or grade, is smooth and comfortable. I have been able to increase my workout time by 20 minutes and stay at a higher grade and a faster pace for a longer period of time. Best of all, no knee pain or lower back pain during or after the workout. I can't say enough about this shoe and will definitely be ordering another pair when I have worn this pair out. What a difference working out in a good quality shoe can make! As long as they keep making these, I will keep buying them. I would also like to add that sometimes when I'm in the middle of my workout, I almost feel like I'm cheating in these shoes because they feel so good and they make my workout so much more enjoyable!

I ordered a size 8W and besides being a bit tight, my toe hit the edge & if the shoes are sized well, I should only need a 7 1/2 Wide. So even ordering a bit large, it was too short.
