Our first pair of Tsukihoshis Apr 21, 2012
By PMommy This is my daughter's first pair of Tuskihoshis. As a 5 year old, she is outgrowing some of the "cuter" baby brand of tennis shoes (at least the styles I like), such as Pediped and See Kai Run, which have been our favorite over the years. So, in a search for new, supportive, durable and, of course, cute, tennis shoes, some friends recommended Tsukihoshi. After reading rave reviews, we decided to try them. We haven't been disappointed! The shoes are great! Very supportive, super flexible and soft, right out of the box. They are also very lightweight and are even comfy w/out socks on a warm spring day. I love the fact that they are machine washable, too. We also purchased a pair of Geox at the same time, and the Geox are also very sturdy, well-made tennis shoes, but are much, much stiffer and very firm on the instep.
One note - Tsukihoshi runs VERY large. My daughter wears a size 12, and after reading reviews, I bought size 11.5 in the Tsukihoshi. There is still about 1/2 inch of room for growth at the front of the shoe. The shoe is about 1/4 in longer than the size 12 Geox we bought at the same time. However, it hugs her narrow foot VERY well, and she doesn't complain about the extra length. She loves the shoe! We'll be back for more, and I'll be buying a pair for my 2 yr old son, too!
PS - Kudos to Amazon for lightning fast shipping on these, too!

**UPDATED**Lightweight Flexible But Is Sized 1/2 to 1 Size Larger Mar 08, 2012

**Update 3/15/2012**
Went to the beach yesterday and before long my son had fully immersed his shoes in the surf (I had removed his socks so he was barefoot in his shoes). He ran in and out of the water, up and down the beach. Afterward we went to the park and I expected him to complain about his wet shoes or ask to take them off but he didn't, in fact he was happy with them and I did not take them off his feet till we got home hours later. Touching the insides of the shoes, they did not have a wet feel-though they were-- and also were not noticeably heavier than when dry. The instructions say to not put them in sunlight to dry so I had them inside in our air conditioned home meaning to put them outside in a warm shady spot but of course I forgot to do that. I was very surprised this morning to find them completely dry -though a bit sandy on the inside- also they were not hard or crusty at all. Great shoes!!

We live in a coastal area and I wanted shoes that were lightweight flexible with good traction and would dry quickly. Reading the description on these I thought they were worth a try but I looked around for some reviews on other sites before purchasing. Really glad I did because everyone posted that these fit a half to full size large, so order small.
My little guy has been wearing a size 27 Uk ecco trainers (size 9 1/2us) and his toes are at the end of his shoes. He has been saying ouch when I put them on so I was hesitant about ordering a 9 1/2 because if they were too small I didn't think we could wait for another pair to arrive. However I'm glad I stuck with the 9 1/2s, I would say that the sizing is over half a size off. Anyway these work well for us, lots of room for him to grow. They are also perfect for our needs. Lightweight, flexible, comfortable out of the box and with good traction (important when you have a kid who climbs everything). Love that they're machine washable. Really good quality pair of shoes and I'm going to order the next size up to have on hand for when he grows out of these.
