Toxic Stench Sep 18, 2011
By The Lorax Wow, these things smell like nothing else. It isn't foot odor or mildew from being wet. They didn't smell good when we brought them home and even after airing them outside and wearing them for a few weeks, it is, if anything worse. A toxic, chemical smell that just makes you think cells are malforming with every breath. I've washed them and dried them on a shoe dryer several times and nothing helps. Last night, I left them on the shoe drier overnight (which gently blows warm air through the shoes) and when I opened the basement door this am, the miasma of toxic off-gassing had gathered at the top of the stairs--totally identifiable and unique to these shoes. It was so strong that at first I wondered if some chemicals had been spilled in the basement before I realized what it was. I am going to have to replace them. I'm pretty stunned for the price that Adidas could make such a crappy disgusting product. You can be sure I won't be buying any more of their stuff.
